Meet Our Adult Providers

Dr. Lauren Stokes

Dr. Lauren Drerup Stokes was born and raised in Central Louisiana. She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Child Psychology from the University of Kansas and her postdoctoral Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychopharmacology from Alliant University. She is an active member of the Louisiana Academy of Medical Psychologists. Dr. Stokes trained under Dr. James Quillin and is eternally grateful for his mentorship, support, and tutelage. Dr. Stokes lives in Alexandria, Louisiana with her husband and two young children.

Dr. James Underhill

Dr. James Underhill is a medical and neuropsychologist. He completed fellowships in neuropsychology, rehabilitation psychology, and forensic psychology. He is board certified in medical psychology. He practices in the states of Texas, New Mexico, and Louisiana and is both a national and international speaker and consultant. He comes to us from Austin, TX.

Dr. Larry Vaught

Dr. Larry Vaught is a medical and school psychologist with experience in neuropsychological evaluations. He received his Ph.D. from Oklahoma State University. He has been in private practice since 1986 treating both adults and children. He has also consulted in various rehabilitation settings such as Kaiser Rehab Center and Jane Phillips Memorial Hospital. He comes to us from Tulsa, OK.



Jennifer Andrus, LCSW

Jennifer Andrus, MSW, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker with a Bachelor of Psychology from Centenary College and a Master of Social Work from Louisiana State University. Jenny was born and raised in Central Louisiana and is the proud daughter of Dr. James Quillin. She has extensive experience working in multiple medical settings in the field of social work treating children, adolescents, and adults. Her services include individual therapy, parenting support, and group counseling. She lives in Alexandria, Louisiana with her husband and two young children.

Ashley Benoit, LMSW

Ashley Benoit, LMSW, is a licensed master’s level social worker. She received both her bachelor’s and master’s degree in social work from Louisiana Christian University, with a specialization in Healthcare and Behavioral Health. She provides therapy for all ages, including children through adults, and works closely with our medical providers. She is the Coordinator of Pediatric Therapy Services and has received additional pediatric specialty training in Parent Child Interaction Therapy, an evidence-based treatment for children ages 2-8. She lives in Pineville, Louisiana with her husband and several fur babies.

Gabie Cangelosi-Carpenter, LPC

Gabrielle “Gabie” Cangelosi-Carpenter, LPC  is a licensed professional counselor with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Northwestern State University and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern State University. Gabie was born and raised in Central Louisiana. She has experience working in multiple medical setting in the field of counseling treating children, adolescents, and adults. Gabie’s services include individual therapy, family therapy, and group counseling for all ages include children through adults. She lives in Pineville, Louisiana with her husband and three children.

Cynthia Cayer, LPC

Cynthia Cayer, LPC  is a licensed professional counselor with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Neuropsychology from University of Texas. Cynthia was born and raised in Central Louisiana. She has experience working in multiple settings in the field of counseling treating children, adolescents, and adults. Her services include individual therapy, family therapy, and group counseling for all ages.  She loves to continue to learn including being fortunate enough to take courses at Harvard. She is certified in EMDR and other certifications for treating children and adolescents such as sand tray therapy and TFCBT,  She is excited to have recently returned home to Louisiana.  In her free time you'll find her volunteering for her passions on the STARR Board, the American Cancer Society Relay for Life Council or the Hope House Board.
